CHINESE TYPE DESIGN PROJECT |
This series of type designs was created as an exercise in exploring the intersection of typography and cinematic expression. Each design is a visual interpretation of a film’s core essence, transforming key themes or emotions into typefaces that resonate with the style and tone of the respective films. The project combines my love for film with a passion for experimental type design, exploring how letterforms can embody the emotional core of a movie while maintaining readability and aesthetic coherence.
This project allowed me to experiment with diverse typographic styles, using software to manipulate and create custom fonts that speak directly to the core of a theme. Through this exploration, I gained deeper insights into how typography can be used as both a functional and expressive art form, and how it can enhance the audience's experience of a film in a purely visual context.
